Neusoft Medical Cath Lab Begins Treating Patients in Africa, Offering Ethiopian Patients a New Option
Release time:2024.11.20
Addis Ababa Silk Road General Hospital was established in 2019 with a collaborative team from China, Ethiopia, Europe, and the United States. Now the hospital features twenty clinical departments and one hundred beds. By 2024, the hospital completed the installation of the Neusoft Medical angiography system, enabling it to perform several angiographic and treatment procedures daily.
Before the Cath Lab was established at Addis Ababa Silk Road General Hospital, Ethiopian patients had to travel to Kenya for interventional treatments or face long wait times at Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital, the only catheterization center in Addis Ababa.
Stroke and coronary heart diseases are the number one and number three causes of death in Ethiopia, accounting for 7% of total deaths in the country. The NeuAngio angiography system plays a crucial role in establishing high-volume, low-cost mono-specialty hospitals focused on cardiovascular diseases within secondary and tertiary healthcare facilities across Africa.
